Hello, my name is Bonnie Zirkle. I've lived in
Palmer, Alaska since 1986. My husband and I are both assistant
hunting guides.
In the fall we spend a lot of time hiking above the Arctic Circle,
where we find Caribou and Moose antlers. We also spend time on Kodiak Island, where the Sitka Black Tail Deer antlers are found.
The weaving is created with wood reed and is hand stained using one or
more colors.
My Sitka Black Tail antlers make a smaller, more compact bowl.
The Mule Deer and White Tail Deer antlers make a deeper bowl with more
artistic movement because
of the longer tines. These baskets are
more difficult to create and take longer to weave.
The Moose antler bowls and baskets are most challenging to create
because of their size and weight. All my bowls are one of a kind creations and are real collectors
items.
Moosewallow Antler bowls and
baskets are available exclusively by custom order, at our gift
shop or from the
